Art Journal Emporium: Week in Review #1 January 09 2015, 2 Comments

We have just finished the first full week of January’s Art Journal Emporium. Even in just this short time we've done so much--and we have a whole lot more in store.  So far we have chosen a word for the year, worked with daily prompts, and started an Emporium book club…and it’s only the 9th!

  • Word for the Year 2015

This mini workshop had our art explorers delving deep into themselves to come up with some truly inspirational ideas.

Donna M. created this gorgeous two page spread for her word, cherish.

This inspiring word of the year spread was made by Liz W.

  • The Daily Art Dose – January

Voyagers on an art excursion can experience a daily dose of inspiration in these simple daily prompts designed to inspire short bursts of creativity.

Cindy S.'s spread for our first daily prompt contains gesso, butterflies, and some splattery layers. What more can you ask for?

Marilyn C. has created zentangles for some of our daily prompts.

  • Emporium Book Club

The first week of our book club has uncovered many creative insights and inspired some incredible pages.

Kay O. encourages "no more settling" in her quick sketch in response to our reading.

Mindy A. has a riot of color and gorgeousness going on in her spread.

Whew!  So much art journaling beauty and we have just gotten started. Stay tuned for more creative and inspirational art in upcoming posts. If you want to get in on the fun, there is still time to join the Art Journal Emporium!

Guidemap to the Art Journal Emporium January 07 2015, 2 Comments

As the name would imply, the Art Journal Emporium is huge. So huge, in fact, that we thought that we should provide you with a guide map—kind of like the ones you get when visiting a theme park.

When first visiting the Art Journal Emporium, the art explorer should stop by the Emporium Service Center. This ‘information station’ is filled with all sorts of useful facts including introductions from many of the other visitors. Hint: Check out Tangie’s Blooper Reel!

The Provisions and Goods Department is filled with goodies like printables and digital art supplies some of which will be exclusive for Emporium members.

In the Mini-Workshps Department, the intrepid art explorer will find links to the various workshops offered. These mini workshops range from short activities to 3, 5, or 7 day long workshops to prompts that will last the entire month.

Prepare to embark on an art adventure when entering the Inspiration and Art Department. This area is chock full of inspiration, motivation, and encouragement. Follow along with The Daily Art Dose (don’t forget to tag your creations on social media! #thedailyartdose), stock up on BeMused cards, and more.

Venturing even further into the Emporium, explorers will find the Education and Learning Department. “How to” pages, tutorials, and awesome videos can be found stocked on these shelves.

The best thing about the Art Journal Emporium is that it is constantly changing. New ideas spin off into workshops at the speed of imagination. Supplies appear on the shelves overnight. Encouragement and comradery is everywhere.

If you are not already a member, here’s where to join. Tangie explains the Art Journal Emporium in more detail here. If you are a member already, stop by today to soak in the inspiration.

Own an Original Rebecca Mixed-Media Artwork December 04 2014, 0 Comments

Hello Friends,

Tangie here today, to share with you some exciting news! Many people have asked if there is a way to purchase original mixed-media artwork from Rebecca, understandably so, her work is remarkable!  Today I can reveal that Rebecca has been working on new original works of art that are now available in her Etsy shop. This is an incredible opportunity to own an original! Rebecca has had (and continues to have) an extensive artist's career, including designing beautiful products for Ballard Designs, Hallmark and Disneyland. She also has had her interior design featured in newspapers, Country Living and more. I'm a lucky girl to have so wonderful a mother.
Wishing you a wonderful December,
~Tangie
